The richness and abundance of Central California is where Jeff Nickel has his roots and sets the stage for the scope of his diverse background. Born, raised and educated in Fresno, Jeff attended Fresno City College and advanced his education at California State University, Fresno.

“Funny thing – going into Financial Services with a ‘nickel’ up on everything else. Can’t beat that…” is how Jeff describes his beginning in the financial world. In Jeff’s words, “My first ‘real’ job out of college was at a local jewelry store. Sales, but really a glorified glass cleaner and ‘turnover’ man. I was fired a year later. In the words of my manager, “We need someone that doesn’t mind committing a little petty larceny.”
“Well, I guess lying to make a sale was not part of my make-up.”

Jeff entered the financial services industry with one of the leading life insurance companies in 1975 where he received important teaching and training. In 1981 he made a decisive move by teaming up with E.F. Hutton as their Director of Financial Planning. Remember that old quote from E.F. Hutton? To paraphrase:”When Jeff Nickel speaks, people listen.”

After next working with one of the premier pension and retirement firms in California, Jeff was recruited by Great Western Bank’s Valley Insurance Agency to head up their insurance sales spanning Bakersfield to Sacramento. Tired of the corporate quotas and games, he launched his own practice, which became one of the top ten financial firms in Central California. Jeff has also been ranked nationally in the top 2% in the financial services business. He is often a Keynote Speaker at Seminars.

As an industry leader for over 30 years, Jeff believes that his strongest assets are the relationships he has established with his clients, developing an investment, retirement and insurance plan tailored to their particular needs. The plan includes a thorough understanding of objectives, realistic expectations, and an understanding of the risks and rewards inherent in all investment and insurance vehicles selected.

A multifaceted man, Jeff is a voracious reader, and believes in fantastic health – body, mind and spirit. As an avid bicycle rider, he is working 100 miles (in one day) and over bike events – showing the same tenacity for keeping healthy, as in finding the best possible markets and thinking out of the box for his customers.

As a founding member & Board Chairman of an Art Museum group, Jeff was dedicated to bringing new members into the museum and raising art awareness in the 21 to 50+ age group in Fresno & surrounding area. Loving art and culture, he volunteered at the Fresno Art Museum and The Fresno Metropolitan Museum. Other distinguished activities include being P.T.A. Board President for a private school and Board Chairman & member of various community charities. He founded a non-profit foundation to educate and protect people from investment fraud, and help expose the guilty parties and recover the victims lost assets. Jeff and JDNickel are members of the Better Business Bureau.
